After being nominated by their supervisors and colleagues for excellence, 28 educators were awarded the 2017 teacher of the year distinction. These teachers will represent their school as a member of the Teacher Forum, an advocacy group which meets regularly with Superintendent Dr. Kelly Pew. This year’s honorees have a combined 350-plus years of teaching experience.

In an exciting new collaboration with the Charlotte Knights, our teacher of the year recipients will be recognized on the field at BB&T Ballpark during pre-game festivities Sunday, May 7. Each recipient will receive a complimentary ticket to the game, and anyone in York County can to purchase discount tickets here  (http://bit.ly/YorkCountyEducation) by using code: yorkcounty.

At the district back to school rally in August one teacher will be named the Rock Hill Schools district teacher of the year. The district teacher of the year will receive $1000, one year use of a car from our corporate sponsor Honda Cars of Rock Hill, and be in the running for the South Carolina Teacher of the Year Award.
