On Friday, May 10 during its annual Rewards for Excellence awards ceremony, the South Carolina Chapter of the National School Public Relations Association (SC/NSPRA) awarded the Rock Hill Schools marketing and communications team a total of seven awards, including two “Best in Show” awards.
New this year, SC/NSPRA recognized the highest scoring entry in each category as the “Best in Show” recipient. Director of Marketing and Communications Mychal Frost earned top honors for a branding/image package launched at Rosewood Elementary School, and Multimedia Communications Specialist Aaron Sheffield won “Best in Show” for his video showcasing the December 2018 grand opening and ribbon cutting of Cherry Park Elementary School of Language Immersion.
Additionally, awards were received for videos “Kolton’s Dream”, “Thank you, Teachers!”, and “Roving Chef” as well as the district’s comprehensive use of social media and “The Flu: A Guide for Parents,” which was a special purpose publication developed as part of the district’s monitoring and notification of spikes in flu or flu-like illness during the winter 2019 flu season.
The Rewards for Excellence Program recognizes outstanding communications and public relations efforts by schools, school districts and educational agencies and associations.
