Rock Hill Schools has been selected to participate in the second year of the statewide eLearning pilot program. As one of 10 districts approved to participate by the SC Education Oversight Committee (EOC), this allows the school district to provide eLearning opportunities for students to complete assignments, in lieu of making up two inclement weather days, in the 2019-2020 school year.
The Rock Hill Schools Board will work together with district leaders, school staff, and parents during the first semester to finalize plans and procedures for the use of eLearning days. For the 2019-2020 school year, Rock Hill Schools will be able to replace two of the three scheduled make-up days with eLearning opportunities. Before an eLearning day is announced, procedures will be shared with all families in the district.
The EOC received 23 applications. This past school year, the five districts who participated in the program reviewed and scored the applications. Rock Hill Schools was one of the 10 districts that received the highest overall number of points, as well as the highest average number of points.
This recognition is another example of both the heritage of commitment our board and district leadership have provided in Rock Hill Schools as well as the opportunities for innovation that make Rock Hill Schools a great place to both learn and participate in daily.
