Following Monday night’s Board of Trustees meeting, Superintendent Dr. Bill Cook, Jr. announced a series of administrative changes that bring five new assistant principals to Rock Hill Schools.
Sheneka Miller will join the administrative team at Dutchman Creek Middle School as an assistant principal. Since 2008, she has taught pre-algebra and algebra at Saluda Trail Middle School.Miller, who has 16 years of experience at the middle school level in both Rock Hill and Chester, replaces Susan McNally who moved this month to a new post at Castle Heights Middle School.
Shana Hannibal completes the administrative team at Sullivan Middle School. After spending five years at a seventh grade language arts and social studies at Rawlinson Road Middle School, she joins Sullivan as an assistant principal where she replaces Jennise Knight who moved to a position at Rawlinson Road Middle School earlier this month.
Kenneth Gaither joins Castle Heights Middle School as an assistant principal after spending the past three years as Dean of Students at Lawrence Orr Elementary School in Charlotte, N.C. He has more than 15 years of experience at both the middle and high school levels in addition to serving as director of Tri-District Adult Education in York County. Gaither replaces Torrie Barber who recently left the district for a new position in York, S.C.
Dr. Jacqueline Persinski replaces Heather Andrus as an assistant principal at Northwestern High School. Persinski has taught AP European history and American history at Northwestern for 10 years. Before coming to Rock Hill Schools in 2008, she taught social studies in Monroe, N.C. and Darlington, S.C.
Kendyl Futrelle becomes the first assistant principal at the new Cherry Park Elementary School of Language Immersion. A graduate of Rock Hill Schools, she has taught for the past seven years at Richmond Drive Elementary School and completed her administrative internship alongside Pat Maness while at Richmond Drive. She and Mr. Maness will open the new dual language immersion school in January 2019.
