During its special called executive session on Thursday, July 6, the Rock Hill Schools Board of Trustees approved the hiring of two principals to fill vacancies at Independence Elementary and Rosewood Elementary schools.
Deborah Greenwood (right) replaces Stephanie DiStasio as the principal of Rosewood Elementary School. Greenwood comes to Rock Hill after four years as principal of Forest Hills Global Elementary School, a Title I and International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme school in Wilmington, N.C. In addition to housing the French immersion program, Rosewood is also a Title I and International Baccalaureate school. Greenwood’s experience will help Rosewood continue to excel in both areas. Before Forest Hills, she was an elementary principal with South Redford Schools in Redford, Mich. Previously, she was an elementary principal with Holly Area Schools in Holly, Mich., Title I Coordinator with Oak Park Schools, Oak Park, Mich., Executive Director of K-12 Curriculum and Instruction with Brandon Schools in Ortonville, Mich., and elementary principal with Avondale Schools, Auburn Hills, Mich. She holds degrees from Michigan State University and Eastern Michigan University.
